Amidst Gordon Ryan‘s relentless battle against sickness, an unexpected call from UFC star Khamzat Chimaev brightened his day. Recently, Ryan found himself hospitalized after his Abu Dhabi trip, where he was diagnosed with what was initially reported as strep throat. Despite enduring a significant amount of time in the hospital, and undergoing multiple rounds of antibiotics, the infection stubbornly refused to yield, leaving his throat in a dire state. As a result, his stomach worsened, leading to a series of medical procedures, including a tonsillectomy and the correction of a deviated septum.

Taking to social media, Ryan detailed his condition and the reasons behind his absence from training, shedding light on the immense toll the illness had taken on his physique. Consequently, the 27-year-old grappler has been out of shape and unable to partake in training sessions.
