Despite enduring a significant amount of time in the hospital, and undergoing multiple rounds of antibiotics, the infection stubbornly refused to yield, leaving his throat in a dire state. As a result, his stomach worsened, leading to a series of medical procedures, including a tonsillectomy and the correction of a deviated septum.

Taking to social media, Ryan detailed his condition and the reasons behind his absence from training, shedding light on the immense toll the illness had taken on his physique. Consequently, the 27-year-old grappler has been out of shape and unable to partake in training sessions. However, against all odds, he received a call from the ‘Borz,’ Khamzat Chimaev, inviting him to resume training.

Chimaev took to the Instagram story, exuding genuine concern, as he reached out to Gordon Ryan with a heartfelt message. In the clip, he expressed, “Gordon Ryan, brother. You get sick, I hope you get healthy. I miss you, brother, in the mats.”

Gordon Ryan seemed eager to embrace the challenge. He swiftly responded through his own Instagram story, fueling the excitement further. He wrote, “@khamzat_chimaev let’s train.”

Although criticisms have emerged following his recent illness, Gordon Ryan remains unwavering, refusing to back down in the face of adversity. And recently, he took to his social media to hit back at the trolls.

The BJJ star has a long history of health issues that have affected his combat career. However, the 27-year-old intends to get back to training as soon as possible. Previously, he also endured stomach issues which resulted in brief retirement.
