Conor McGregor may not have had much luck on the 31st season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ but the same cannot be said of his prospects after the show. The Irishman conceded a historic 7 fight skid, marking a first in the show’s history, until his fighter Rico DiSciullo finally pulled one back for the team in the very last quarter-final fight. Later, his SBG Ireland teammate Brad Katona jumped ship to join McGregor’s boys in blue and went on to win the bantamweight finals at UFC 292. However, the latest reports suggest that Katona is not the only Team McGregor star that the UFC has decided to pick up.
Katona carried team McGregor’s hopes after sole winner DiSciullo made an early exit in the semi-finals. At UFC 292, Katona and former teammate Cody Gibson put on a war reminiscent of the historic Stephan Bonnar vs. Forrest Griffin fight. While Katona won the fight, they both earned UFC contracts after that performance. Now, Dana White has decided to give another young prospect from TUF 31 a chance to make it in the UFC, and his name might surprise you.

Team Conor McGregor gets surprising news following TUF 31 win at UFC 292
After Brad Katona, lightweight prospect Landon Quinones has received a UFC contract. He will be fighting Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 293. The event will be held on September 9, at Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney. ‘The Lone Wolf’ took to Instagram to let the MMA community know about the big news. He wrote, “It’s a done deal September 9th in Sydney, Australia. I’ll be making my UFC debut against the perfect opponent to put on a banger! I worked my whole life for this and on TUF I didn’t get to show what I’m made of.“

He further added, “I will embrace every feeling and not shy from the chaos. God has given me a 2nd chance my career starts now and I will make the most of it and do my end of the job! LFG!!” After coming across the post, McGregor was so proud of his fighter. He shared the post to his Instagram story and wrote, “Team McG Tuf alumni signed! More coming.“ ‘The Notorious’ also announced that more fighters from his TUF team will get UFC contracts.
Quinones barely showed anything on TUF 31 as Team Chandler’s Jason Knight submitted him inside a minute in the seventh bout on the show. One of the most highly rated prospects on the show, fans will have to wait and see if the 27-year-old can make the most of his second chance. The Florida native is a former Titan FC lightweight champion and will surely look to replicate the achievement in the biggest of MMA promotions. Meanwhile, uncertainty clouds his coach’s prospects of gracing the Octagon anytime soon.

Will ‘The Notorious’ fight again?
The anticipation was high among UFC fans when Conor McGregor was announced as the coach for TUF 31. Usually, TUF coaches face off in the UFC octagon once the season wraps up. This had many hoping for McGregor to square off with Michael Chandler, in the months following the finale. However, much to the fans’ dismay, McGregor didn’t enter the USADA testing pool, crushing hopes of his return. However, UFC president Dana White assured that McGregor would return to the promotion as per the previous plans.

Following this, ‘The Notorious’ himself came forward to declare that he would lock horns against Michael Chandler in December. This made fans extremely happy, as they believed that they would finally get to see another mind-blowing fight from the UFC superstar. However, most recently, McGregor dropped a bomb through his social media handle. He wrote that “they are” not letting him fight in December. After this, most of the fans have lost all hope.
