UFC lightweight hotshot Dustin Poirier might not have been an undisputed champion, but he has surely showcased his wrath throughout his lightweight career. Known for winning the trilogy against Conor McGregor, he has demonstrated exceptional technique, tenacity, and versatility in his fights. Poirier has surely been a head-turner with his approaching lightweight match against another UFC prodigy, Justin Gaethje, for the BMF belt.

In light of the main event of UFC 291, Poirier had a long conversation with the renowned UFC commentator Jon Anik. And guess what? The interview showcased a captivating phase when Poirier was asked to make a choice between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.

The scenario became gripping when an MMA fan, who was anxious to disseminate the fresh news, highlighted a portion of the exchange on Twitter. The discussion seemed extended in the YouTube video, but the Twitter post just showed what business meant. It had a caption which claimed, “They asked Dustin Poirier, which is the more winnable rematch, Charles or Khabib.”

The UFC commentator started the conversation by quizzing Poirier. He asked, “If you could have a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov or Charles Oliveira. I don’t want to know which guy you want to have the rematch with. Is one of those fights more winnable than the other? Khabib or Charles?” He further added, “No comment is the fine answer (Laughing) “

As is evident from the question, the conversation was Poirier’s decision of who, out of Nurmagomedov and Oliveira, he could beat in a rematch.

Following the question, Poirier straight away cut to the chase with his response. He said, ” Of course I got a comment! I think Charles is a more winnable fight.”

The two greatest threats Poirier ever encountered during his UFC career are the centerpieces of the video. In their respective individual matches, they both forced him to submit. Furthermore, Poirier picked the name Oliveira because he thought he could defeat him if they met again. ‘The Diamond’ met Oliveira back in 2021 at UFC 269, which surely has a history to showcase.

Charles Oliveira demonstrated his potential as a transitional champion at UFC 269 by systematically defeating former interim champion Dustin Poirier. Oliveira was able to force Poirier to fight the kind of battle he didn’t want to engage despite the fact that he was subject to heavy gunfire and blood.
