Veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan made his name as a stand-up comedian and then ventured into the mainstream with his stint in Fear Factor. Capitalizing on his popularity, Rogan set up The Joe Rogan Experience in 2009. The Spotify podcast has no definite subject of conversation and listeners can expect any and every topic to be discussed. Comic book characters (from Marvel and DC) were the subject of a chat in episode #1879.

Joe Rogan and his guests (Ari Shaffir, Tom Segura, and Bert Kreischer) were having a conversation about a particular actor before the 55-year-old spoke about one character essayed by that Hollywood veteran. The Joe Rogan Experience host slammed the Oscar nominee’s role in the MCU. It’s not Iron Man.

The character under discussion was one of the six original Avengers. Joe Rogan said, “I got to say, I f**king hate Hawkeye though. That stupid Marvel character, all he has is a bow and arrow. It’s so dumb, everybody else is The Hulk and they f**king can do crazy sh*t. Dr. Strange can summon other universes and this dude is just shooting sh**ty arrows at aliens.”

Hawkeye’s strength is that he doesn’t miss and can even ace a no-look shot. However, his ability has to have real-life restrictions and Joe Rogan hit the nail on the head. The veteran UFC commentator said, “There’s aliens flying around in spaceships and he’s shooting arrows at them. Like that’s so dumb. He never runs out of arrows. It infuriates me.”

Joe Rogan may have been referring to the 2012 Avengers movie. However, things didn’t change even when Hawkeye battled Ultron (in Avengers 2), Iron Man (in Civil War), and The Outriders (in Avengers: Endgame). Clint Barton did run out of arrows in ‘The Battle of New York’, but this situation didn’t arise for way too long.

Whilst the four men were chatting about Marvel films, their conversation veered towards the DC Universe.

Rogan is curious about Batman’s powers

Joe Rogan, by his own admission, was an avid comic book reader. The polymath, in the same episode, said, “I grew up reading comic books.”

When one of Rogan’s guests revealed his preference for dark comic books, they zeroed in on Watchman and The Dark Knight. Rogan confirmed whether they were talking about the “Chris Nolan” stuff and branded the director’s work as “great.” The UFC icon then provided his take on Master Wayne.

He said, “The problem with Batman. He’s just a rich guy. Like, why does he have all that stuff? Where does he get all these powers from?”

When the guest said that he’s got none and is the peak of what one can do when they train, Rogan concluded, “That’s not real.”

Based on this particular discussion from the JRE, fans may believe that the UFC commentator has a preference for superheroes that aren’t just normal men in suits.
