Did Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Manager Quietly Hint at a Return of ‘The Eagle’

Khabib Nurmagomedov hung his gloves inside the Octagon with a legacy that will be tough to match for any superstar. Only the record of undefeated wins he stacked would be a mountain to climb, let alone the fact that he had barely lost any rounds inside the UFC or otherwise.

Despite all the accolades the undefeated fighter has to his name, his retirement disappointed UFC fans around the world. The reason being, the fighter was still in his prime and was on a roll after injuries and weight-cut issues hampered him early on.

UFC President Dana White didn’t accept his retirement initially and persuaded him to come back, but ‘The Eagle’ had bigger reasons behind the retirement. Even his manager and others have teased a return for ‘The Eagle’ before.

Now, Abdelaziz has done it again. He replied to a tweet from Dutch fighter Tyrone Spong and hinted at a return for ‘The Eagle‘.

It all started with Nurmagomedov’s manager tweeting, “I love kickboxing with MMA gloves @Tyrone_spong What do you think”

Spong replied to Abdelaziz and asked for the date and location. However, Nurmagomedov’s manager directed Spong to ask ‘The Eagle’ to get his wish.

It should be noted that Abdelaziz was not clear in what he implied and only posted “Ask @TeamKhabib with a signing emoji.

Is there a potential return on the horizon for ‘The Eagle’ in kickboxing with the MMA gloves? Did he only retire from the MMA, and could we see ‘The Eagle’ in a kickboxing bout? These are questions only the Dagestani fighter can answer.

Given the way he retired from the sport, the reasons behind it, and the values he has for his words; it doesn’t seem likely that he will return.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired for personal reasons

Nurmagomedov became the number one pound-for-pound fighter after he beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The fighter demanded the spot after an emotional win.

When he fought, no one was aware of all the issues Nurmagomedov was facing ahead of what became his last Octagon outing.

Nurmagomedov had recently lost his father and had a troubled fight camp. However, he shined on the night and outclassed Gaethje to make the record third title defense of his UFC lightweight title.

Moments later, he shocked the world with heavy words. Nurmagomedov announced his retirement at the peak of his career. It was his mother’s wish that he respected to hang up his gloves.
