The bond between fighters in the world of MMA is often overlooked amidst the rivalries and feuds that dominate headlines. A prime example of this is the unlikely friendship of Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till! Their relationship began after Till lost his fight against Derek Brunson in 2021 via submission. The Englishman’s performance in the fight led to many prominent names in the UFC offering him a chance to train together to improve his skills, and one of the offers was an invitation to join ‘Borz’s camp in Stockholm.

According to a statement made by Chimaev at the time, “I feel sorry for him after he’s lost to Brunson… I think he’s a good fighter, but he needs to train harder. I invite him to Stockholm, he will be welcome.” Till then traveled to Sweden in 2022 to train at the Allstars gym with Chimaev and Alexander Gustafsson. But while the two did work together and shared updates with the fans on social media, their antics outside of the gym provided numerous memorable moments for the fandom as well.

One such incident involved the two engaging in a playful ‘sparring’ session inside a Gucci store. The video recently resurfaced online and the fans were left clutching their sides. However, it’s interesting to note that at least the video is considerably less reckless than the stunt they pulled off in 2023 when a clip was shared online of ‘Borz’ and ‘The Gorilla’  racing scooters on a busy road!

Despite Till being released from the UFC in 2023 after requesting the end of his contract due to interests in other ventures, Chimaev still maintained his loyalty and friendship with the Englishman. In a statement made to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Chimaev confessed, “We’re always together, big brother, I love that guy. I [am] happy [that] I met that guy in my life.” And so, let’s take a look at what the fans had to say about the two getting into a sparring session inside a Gucci store!

Till was also targeted in the comments with jokes about his fighting ability as he was on a 3-fight losing streak before he demanded to be let go from his UFC contract

Fans also brought up an interesting point as they claimed that Chimaev’s striking and Till’s wrestling didn’t improve in the time they were together with both men having extensive specialization in their respective disciplines

“I still find it unreal khamzat has mid striking when Darren his main sparring partners striking is world class and same for Darren’s wrestling”

Some fans however weren’t pleased with the support Chimaev has received from the fandom as they claimed that ‘Borz’ hasn’t had an impressive performance in the last 2 years, despite him still being undefeated in the UFC

“Yall still khamzat fan boys after no good performance for almost 2 years”

However, many others were left laughing at the behavior of Till who is known for his sense of humor and playful attitude outside the cage

“Darren always tryna play too much”

But some highlighted the fact that Chimaev’s expressions indicate that he wasn’t exactly going along with the joke and might have been “for real” trying to fight Till

In conclusion, despite differing opinions on the video, Till and Chimaev’s interactions continue to spark laughter and discussion within the MMA community, as evidenced by the response to the resurfaced clip.
