A chance to appear on next year’s UFC White House card has brought a lot of fighters out from the woodwork. From Conor McGregor to Jon Jones, everyone wants a piece of the money pie, including Brazil’s Jean Silva. The Fighting Nerds team member suffered a second-round TKO loss to Diego Lopes last month, but that hasn’t dulled his desire to appear on the biggest card UFC has to offer in its decorated history.

Earlier this month, the 28-year-old took to X, throwing a bold proposition to BMF champion Max Holloway. “Me vs Max Holloway for the BMF at the white house would be [a] dream fight rn,” Silva wrote confidently. Several days have passed since then, and ‘Blessed,’ who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dustin Poirier in July, has finally responded to the callout through his KICK livestream.

Jean Silva is not going to like this, but Diego Lopes does

Holloway recently went live on KICK, where he learned from one of his viewers that Silva had called him out for a fight at the White House card. “Jean Silva called you out for the White House,” the former UFC featherweight champion read one of the messages from his fans during the live stream. His immediate reaction? Max Holloway thought Silva was delusional and potentially had taken some narcotics.

“Is he smoking d—s? Holy f—k! Did he not see what Diego Lopes just did to him? This guy [has] to be trolling us,” Holloway said in utter disbelief. “He needs to be f—king… He needs to be concussed. That motherf—kers stay concussed bro. Whatever he’s saying, we’re not gonna take it seriously, dude. Stay concussed, bro,” Holloway concluded. A clip of Holloway’s reaction to the callout quickly made it to social media, especially X.

After ‘Home of Fight’ shared the clip with his followers, it quickly found itself on Diego Lopes’ X feed. The 30-year-old didn’t waste a lot of time before sharing his thoughts on the entire situation. “🤣🤣🤣,” Lopes commented on the post.

The 2025 UFC Noche headliners did not have the greatest opinions of each other, and they made it known. After the KO win, things almost went out of hand with Lopes reaction to Silva’s corner and Silva punching and throwing a stool at Lopes.

Before the fight, Silva had told MMA Junkie, “It’s no secret to anyone that I don’t like the person that he is, just like Bryce Mitchell. I’m not a fan of Diego, but I don’t have anything against him.” The pair seemingly came to an understanding later backstage in the same night. But that’s not enough to convince Lopes that Silva gets a shot against ‘Blessed’s BMF belt at the White House. And it could be because there is a bigger fight for the same champion out there.

Charles Oliveira calls out Max Holloway for the BMF title

In case you didn’t know, Charles Oliveira made a triumphant return at UFC Rio, submitting Mateusz Gamrot in the second round in the main event. Immediately after, he turned his attention to a new challenge—Max Holloway and the latter’s BMF title. Overcome with emotion, Oliveira brought his family into the Octagon and addressed the fans.

“This is all for you guys. This is not about money, fame, or status. Scr– it—this is Brazil!” he said. Moments later, he made his intentions clear for what’s next. “Hey Hunter [Campbell],” Oliveira shouted. “Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway—‘BMF’— let’s make that happen.”

It was a vintage performance from Oliveira, proving he’s far from done and hungry for UFC gold. And he has unfinished business with Max. Ten years ago, at a Fight Night in Saskatoon, Canada, Holloway handed ‘do Bronxs’ a KO/TKO loss via injury, in their featherweight main event. Now, Charles wants to return the favor at lightweight. And that seems to be a matchup everyone, from fans online to Dana White at the UFC HQ, can get behind.

From the looks of things, Jean Silva is not getting his hands on Max Holloway anytime soon, let alone on the UFC White House card. But who do you think Holloway should fight next?
