As Islam Makhachev continues to carry his legacy forward, Khabib Nurmagomedov remains one of the biggest personalities that MMA has ever seen. Having capped off his legendary 29-0 record in 2020 (formally in 2021), he decided to get into the business side of things and bought a promotion and renamed it the Eagle Fighting Championship, named after his moniker. But that’s not it for Nurmagomedov.
The UFC Hall of Famer also has a few MMA training institutes to his name as well. After his father passed away, Khabib Nurmagomedov took over the reins of the Club Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov’s School in Makhachkala, Dagestan. Another institute, where he’s the co-founder, is called Eagles MMA. Meanwhile, Khabib didn’t really have any world-class MMA infrastructure in his hometown, but now, that’s changed.
So, Khabib Nurmagomedov spent most of his years training in Makhachkala, but it all started in the village of Sildi. Having amassed a net worth of around $40 million, the former UFC star decided to give back to his hometown and strengthen his grip on the MMA industry with a massive training center. MMA podcaster Adam Zubayraev recently shared a video from Khabib’s new Sildi training center, located near a river stream. And guess what? It looks like a million bucks.

While Adam Zubayraev just recently shared a video of the whole training center, pictures of it started popping up over a month ago on the internet. Moreover, the construction of the complex started way back when Khabib’s father was still alive and in living color, and now, this training center will always remind the 29-0 legend of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

This is a great way for ‘The Eagle’ to literally give back to the community after an illustrious fighting career, and we can expect fighters popping up in Sildi and representing that town in the future. Meanwhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t just planning to get his grip on the national MMA market. He’s also planning to go global as he announced plans for a training centre in Southeast Asia.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is working to establish a gym in Malaysia
When we talk about Malaysia, whose tourism tagline is “Malaysia Truly Asia,” we often think about its cultural diversity, its food, the Petronas Towers, and soccer. Although it’s not a big soccer nation, it is the biggest sport in the country. Meanwhile, there have hardly been any MMA fighters who’ve made a significant impact on the sport, but that could change soon due to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib Nurmagomedov visited Johor in Malaysia to meet with the Regent Tunku Makhota Ismail last October for a discussion surrounding “youth development programmes.” That led to the announcement that Khabib will be opening up a gym in that region. Former Malaysian MMA fighter-turned-coach Melvin Yeoh expressed his excitement regarding this announcement, claiming that it’s a huge step for the nation towards MMA.
“If you are really into MMA, especially one who is building up grassroots [talent], you should be excited and very eager to see what it will bring to the local community,” said Melvin Yeoh. Well, Khabib Nurmagomedov was successful as a fighter, and his business career hasn’t been a bad one either. It remains to be seen how many more training centers and gyms he establishes in the years to come.
