Donald Trump was shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania hours ago. The former president was there to speak at a rally for his 2024 presidential campaign. The UFC world, which is one of the few islands of American life where Trump is almost unanimously popular, expressed their outrage and concerns online. This included the sport’s biggest-ever superstar, Conor McGregor, who had a short message for Trump, to which the former President’s son, Donald Trump Jr. has responded.

‘Mac’ had taken to X after Trump’s apparent assassination attempt to commend the attack stating, “A 78 year old multiple billionaire he should be on a yacht on the med touring golf courses. But he is not. He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! God speed Donald! God bless the United States.”

It is unclear at the moment whether Trump’s right ear, which was bleeding, was grazed by a bullet or hit by fragments of the glass teleprompter. Except for his ear, the former president was reportedly unharmed. The FBI has taken over the investigation, which is ongoing at the moment. The alleged shooter was reportedly shot and killed by the Secret Service on the scene.

Conor McGregor was not the only one who had words of encouragement for Trump. One of the former president’s best friends, Dana White also took the opportunity to tell voters why Trump would be a great President.

Predictably, Dana White, who is eternally grateful to Trump for helping the UFC in the early 2000s, when it was struggling for survival, was incensed. The Las Vegas resident took to Instagram and wrote a lengthy caption extolling Trump’s toughness and resilience, and citing it as the reason why he was proud to support him for the 2024 POTUS race. This passionate caption was accompanied by the iconic photo of a defiant Trump holding his fist in the air after being shot at.

“I am absolutely SICK to my stomach and in complete shock. I still don’t know how bad it is or if he’s ok… This image perfectly reflects EXACTLY the man I know Donald Trump to be. He is the toughest, most resilient, AMERICAN BAD ASS on this planet. I hope the weak coward that shot him gets what he deserves, and I can’t WAIT to stand up on stage with him on Thursday and introduce him at the Republican National Convention and tell the WORLD exactly the character of the friend and man I KNOW!!” the UFC CEO wrote in part.
