The USADA has been known to be an organization that many UFC fighters disliked or had problems with. The organization has done a commendable service for the UFC in preventing the fighters from using performance-enhancing drugs. However, some fighters seem to have a problem with how USADA conducted the tests. Popular MMA personalities like Joe Rogan, Paulo Costa, and some more have voiced their disappointment with USADA’s procedures.

The USADA was reportedly getting paid 7 million annually by the UFC. However, the UFC has parted ways with the anti-doping organization as they aim to start a new partnership with Drug-Free Sports International (DFSI). UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan shares his thoughts on UFC’s new anti-doping agency.

Rogan has been on the side where he believes that fighters should be able to use substances that help with enhancing a person’s recovery speed and health. On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the host Joe Rogan, along with UFC middleweight Bo Nickal, dives deeper into the similarities between USADA and DFSI.

Rogan claims that DSFI will hold the same value as USADA except the drug testing at unreasonable times. Rogan stated, “The new UFC drug doping program is going to be real similar to USADA. They’re just not going to do the dumb s*** like wake people up in the morning in the weigh-ins and things along those lines.”

Rogan went on to detail DFSI’s stance on drugs for recovery, “Unfortunately are still not going to let them take certain things that, just like peptides, things that will enhance their ability to heal,” implying that fighters still won’t be able to use substances that would improve their performance and enhance their ability to heal.

The color commentator seems to be in support of fighters taking supplements that improve health and performance. However, UFC commentator and former middleweight champion, Michael Bisping has a completely different view on fighters using PEDs.

On a classic rant on one of his YouTube videos, ‘The Count’ Michael Bisping went off on Vitor Belfort for steroid use. Bisping stated, “Listen, we’re not putting a ball in a basket, we’re not trying to get a ball in the net. We’re trying to knock our opponents unconscious. If you’re knowingly taking steroids all the time, then I’ve got no respect for you whatsoever.”

Bisping does have a fair point when expressing his frustration with fighters using PEDs. As unfortunately, Bisping lost one eye while fighting Vitor Belfort, who was caught using performance-enhancing drugs. The two commentators, Joe Rogan and Michael Bisping seem to share different perspectives on fighters using PEDs.
