Sonnen and Rogan have been in the sport for a long-time. They have watched the sport closely and are one of the best MMA analysts today. However, they crossed paths in 2018 because of their different thoughts on the self-proclaimed supervillain of the UFC Colby Covington.
‘Chaos’ is a heavy trash talker in the game. However, Covington has many times stated he keeps such a persona just to sell the fight. That said, Rogan lauded his ability to sell the fight via trash talk, which didn’t sit well with Chael Sonnen. Hence, it became a major reason for their beef.

In his podcast, Rogan said, “You know what’s really hilarious? Chael Sonnen is mad that I talked about what he (Colby Covington) does I go, he is having fun. I go, he is playing up the role of the villain and he is selling pay-per-views.”
“It’s so ridiculous. Meanwhile, he is giving up the secret of the business by talking about me giving up the secret of the business. It’s the dumbest sh*t of all time.” He added.

“My job is to call what I see. Even when I am promoting things, I am calling what I see. If I say Francis Ngannou is the most terrifying heavyweight contender ever. I say that because that’s what I see… I have to talk about the fact that someone’s talking sh*t to build up, but it doesn’t stop someone from talking sh*t.” Rogan concluded.
