Former UFC bantamweight champions, Petr Yan, and Henry Cejudo, went back and forth on social media in a hilarious exchange. Also, the current champion, Aljamain Sterling, chimed into the conversation as well. Overall, it seemed like a friendly yet hilarious conversation between the trio.

‘No Mercy’ posted a video of two kids facing off against each other. The Russian took a shot at ‘The Messenger’ as he wrote, “Winner will fight @HenryCejudo.” Triple-C didn’t miss the dig and had a go at Yan. “Petr that’s a cheap shot. No need to knee me when I’m down,” wrote the former Olympic gold medalist.

Of course, Cejudo‘s context was a reference to the recent bantamweight title fight between Yan and ‘Funkmaster’ at UFC 259. Yan lost his belt via disqualification as he kneed Sterling on the head while the latter was on the ground. Sterling could not continue. That forced the officials to disqualify Yan. Sterling became the champion subsequently.

I gotta admit that was a good one. Dummies do dumb sh**,” wrote Sterling. ‘Funkmaster’ has been the subject of some fierce criticism from the MMA community for his antics at UFC 259. But it was Yan’s fault only to land the illegal shot against him. So, it’s only natural Sterling is having his say as well.

Petr Yan vs Aljamain Sterling 2: When are we going to see the rematch?

Many believed that Yan might have lost his belt, but he didn’t actually lose the fight. To be honest, ‘No Mercy‘ was establishing his authority over the contest. It looked like a matter of time before he eventually gets the better of his counterpart. However, it was a strange decision on his part to hit Sterling with such a blatantly illegal shot.

The duo is expected to rematch later this year. However, no date has been confirmed as of yet. Also, ‘Funkmaster‘ has to undergo surgery as well. That has left the former champion waiting even more to get the chance to regain his title. When the UFC makes the rematch official, remains to be seen.
