Amongst the list of all the dangerous fighters that Poirier has bested, ‘The Diamond’ picks out three specific names and refers to them as the “violence triangle”. In an interview on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Poirier stated, “I completed the violence triangle: finished Gaethje, finished Eddie Alvarez, finished Chandler.”

I said I respect everything you’ve done, but this is my house that I built, you know.” When discussing Chandler’s reaction to that, Poirier referred to him as a ‘freaking dweeb’. “He looks at me right when I say this is my house, he goes, ‘What? Madison Square Garden is your house? Oh Madison Square Garden is your house’ Then he points down at the mat and he goes, ‘This logo?’ This logo on mat, is this your house?’ And I’m like, I tap him on the shoulder and say, Alright Bud. Okay Bud.” Poirier concluded.
