The bell has rung!! UFC has inducted another member in the modern wing of Hall of Fame and it is none other than the former lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar. Boasting a legendary status within the realm of UFC, Edgar is the prime example of the “never give up” spirit.

His status has been elevated by ͏his victories against pro͏minen͏t ͏fighters, such as Bj ͏Penn and Charles Oliveira, ͏among many others. Jon Anik announced his well-deserved induction into the Hall of Fame at UFC 297, ͏and immediately after, UFC fighters took to the Internet to express their appreciation for the ͏former champion.

UFC Fighters Applaud Frankie Edgar’s Legacy

Frankie Edgar, a fighter who competed in three different UFC divisions throughout his impressive 17-year professional career, received a well-deserved honor on Saturday. He was officially named as the inaugural inductee of the UFC Hall of Fame’s 2024 class. “Frankie Edgar is one of the greatest athletes in UFC history,”  said Dana White in a statement.

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler took to the internet to appreciate the legacy of Edgars. Poirier added a tweet on his X handle. Poirier congratulated Edgars. On the other hand, Chandler added a story on his Instagram handle. He reshared a post of Edgars by UFC and captioned it as “One of the best to ever do it. A guy I looked up to who fortunately became a friend.”

Additionally, White in another statement said, “Frankie had an amazing career and consistently fought the best athletes in the world across multiple weight classes for more than 15 years. He is a legend, and it will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of International Fight Week this summer. Poirier and Chandler were not the only fighters who jumped on the bandwagon to congratulate the former champion.

Fighters rallied behind Edgar congratulating him

Numerous curre͏nt and ͏former UFC fighters, including fellow legends, have expressed their reactions to ͏the news of Edgar’s significant ͏career achieveme͏nt on X. Starting off with Bj Penn. Edgar’s arch-rival took to his social media handle to congratulate the fighter. He said “FRANKIE!!! My guy @FrankieEdgar! Congratulations bruddah”

Jumping on the bandwagon, Chris Weidman also congratulated the fighter. he said “Big shoutout to @FrankieEdgar on his induction into the @ufc HOF ! Well deserved ! Always someone I looked up to in the way he fought and how he carried himself as a man outside of the octagon ! East coast Legend!
