Most UFC fans might have received this year’s best offering from the promotion after the announcement of the UFC 291 fight card. The majority of fans were most excited about the coveted Dustin Poirier vs Justin Gaethje rematch, which was chosen as the main event of UFC 291. Prior to his next bout, ‘The Diamond’ Poirier appeared on Ariel Helwani’s coveted podcast, ‘The MMA Hour’, and expressed his current stature about the fight.

Poirier implied that he was all game about the bout. Also, from the experience of his previous bout, he knew that would be a real uphill task to defeat ‘The Highlight’. Hence, he stated, “This fight is what I’m gonna pick the war hat up for. I know what I’m going into. It’s a head-on collision and I’m not turning away, that’s what this fight is. That’s what I want, that excites me dude.”

Poirier also implied the fact that if this UFC 291 main event doesn’t get someone excited, then they have no authority to call themselves a combat sports fan.

Dricus Du Plessis added another shot to his count of firings at Israel Adesanya

Almost all UFC fans are aware of the ongoing feud between the current Middleweight champ, Israel Adesanya, and Dricus Du Plessis. After starting off with an altercation about who was the “real African fighter,” the pair included several other issues in their shots at each other. However, it was the fighter from the land of Proteas who fired the most recent shot in this issue.

Recently, in his ‘Submission Radio’ podcast appearance, Du Plessis accused Adesanya of acting like a “little child” throughout this entire scenario. He stated, “Now I don’t want to get that title shot based on some hype created by – I don’t even know what – some, some guy, who has the title who is behaving like a little child and overreacting, and now the fight is happening because of that. I want to deserve my title shot.”

A number of UFC fans might agree with Du Plessis in this regard. We have often seen feuds among UFC fighters leading up to official fights. In such a situation, many may laud Du Plessis’s generosity in earning a title shot in a righteous way instead of receiving it due to a feud with the champion.

Aljamain Sterling clapped back at Dana White after his post-UFC Vegas 73 harsh words

Dana White recently took a stern tone while he addressed the UFC bantamweight champ, Aljamain Sterling’s call to step out of his UFC 292 main event bout against Sean O’Malley. However, ‘Funk Master’ recently took to his own YouTube channel and clarified the fact there he had no intentions of quitting his UFC 292 bout. Further, he also derided White for taking such a harsh tone just after a tentative iteration from him.
