Diaz is on his final bout of the contract. Thus, getting a deal for this fight has been more tedious than usual. The UFC perhaps wants Diaz to sign a new contract or, as UFC President Dana White hinted, they are waiting for a Conor McGregor trilogy bout.

Initially, the UFC booked the two to fight at UFC 230 at the MSG. However, the highly awaited bout faced troubles when Poirier had to pull out of the fight due to a medical condition. That said, Poirier blames Diaz for the bout not coming to fruition.
Anyhow, Poirier going after Diaz, that too on his birthday, didn’t sit well with the 209 representatives as he replied to Poirier.

Dustin Poirier lost two championship bouts in grappling exchanges
One of the best boxers in the UFC, Dustin Poirier, also has a black belt in jiujitsu and has shown his wrestling prowess throughout his MMA career. Subsequently, the veteran fighter has many submissions and notable victories to his name.
