The BMF title is back. UFC legend Jorge Masvidal was the first winner of this title. However, he never defended the belt, and in the wake of his retirement, the BMF title became vacant. This prompted Dana White to reinstate the belt and put it up for grabs in the main event of UFC 291. Now, Poirier and Gaethje will battle for the BMF belt while Renato Moicano shared his thoughts about the fight in a recent YouTube video.
Lightweight stars Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will battle each other for the vacant BMF title in the upcoming UFC 291 pay-per-view. With many people excited to watch them fight, Poirier’s training partner and fellow lightweight Renato Moicano predicted that the loser of that fight might consider retirement.

Renato Moicano predicts retirement for BMF fight loser
The Brazilian lightweight fighter weighed in on the BMF title fight. He mentioned that both Poirier and Gaethje have accomplished a lot in their MMA careers. Besides, there may not be many fights left for either of them in the UFC. Moicano said, ” “My hot take about this [BMF] fight is, I think both athletes are very accomplished. I don’t feel they have many fights under their belts anymore.”
Furthermore, he predicted the fight may result in the end of one of the fighters’ careers, with the other getting a shot at the lightweight title. Renato Moicano added, “I think the winner of the fight is going to fight for the belt and the loser most likely will retire. That is my thought.”
Furthermore, The Brazilian believes that Dustin Poirier has an advantage over Justin Gaethje in this fight.
‘The Diamond’ has an “edge” over ‘The Highlight’
Moicano analyzed the fighting styles of Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje and believes that it is going to be a tough outing for both BMF contenders. However, he claimed that the former interim champion has an advantage over Gaethje due to his boxing skills. Moicano said, “I think even though it’s going to be a very hard grinding fight, Poirier got the edge, especially because he’s got better hands.”
