Ever since the news of UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, acquiring WWE at a value of $9.3 billion is out, fans and MMA fighters have had a lot of questions. The merger has sparked speculation among the fans that there would be UFC vs. WWE. Dana White completely ruled out the possibility of a crossover whenever the question was put forward to him. Furthermore, White also thinks that it’s a stupid idea to imagine that such a thing would happen. Even WWE owner and executive chairman Vince McMahon has not talked about the possibility of such a crossover.

However, instances like a WWE star moving into the UFC and vice versa are possible, as before. Brock Lesnar was a WWE star who wanted to try his hand at UFC fights. His thirst to explore broader horizons resulted in him earning the UFC heavyweight championship. Ronda Rousey was a UFC champion who tried her luck in WWE, and soon she became successful in achieving a big name in the professional wrestling promotion. Even though a crossover between the UFC and WWE is impossible, MMA star Kevin Holland wishes to fight Dwayne Johnson.

Kevin Holland wants to face Dwayne Johnson

The UFC welterweight was talking with the Schmo. During the conversation, Holland made it clear that he would love to fight against ‘The Rock’ if a crossover would become a reality. However, he also pointed out how the UFC boss thinks a crossover between the two promotions is a stupid idea. Holland said, We can’t combine the two together, so I mean, you know the boss said it was a dumb question. I don’t think it was a dumb question, but maybe me [Kevin Holland] and you [The Schmo] just had the wrong timing.

Further, he passionately talked about why he wants to face Johnson, “I would like to do a WWE match with the Rock because… I mean at the end of the day, like the only time I’ve ever really seen WWE back in the day was with my Uncle Rico. He used to watch it, you know, grown-up at his house a little bit and he used to love watching ‘The Rock’ and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin you know what mean so I can always smell what ‘The Rock’ is cooking.

Dana White shows the red signal

When the UFC president was talking to the Associated Press this week, he made it clear that there wouldn’t be any crossover. In WWE each match focuses more on entertainment. The UFC president explained how WWE matches are staged while UFC fights are real. The president is not ready to compromise the actual nature of UFC fights. He also believes that’s what makes the UFC stand out from the rest. White was also not ready to give any hope to fans who expect a crossover.

"Like many, my journey into the beautiful game began by watching the mesmerizing Lionel Messi, as his impeccable vision on the pitch and role as a playmaker, meticulously calculating the path to goal always amazed me. This fascination with the finer details of soccer strategy naturally extended to my interest in content strategy. However, my zeal for being a soccer content analyst is not only because of Messi's magic, as I am a keen follower of the Becks as well. While in David Beckham, it was a special affinity for his mastery of crosses, passes, and set pieces, in Victoria Beckham, the fashion queen, I find inspiration in how she masterfully navigated the world of aesthetics and brand identity. This unique blend of admiration for both the tactical intricacies of soccer and the world of fashion and entertainment helps me to cover the game from angles that seamlessly balance sport and entertainment. Before joining EssentiallySports, I worked as a content analyst as well. A Master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from a premiere institute has helped me hone my writing skills and given me a unique perspective on the world of sports. Interestingly, besides soccer, I also extensively covered UFC, especially the Joe Rogan podcast. In my free time, I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest developments in the world of sports.
