Justin Gaethje is one of the most notable names on the UFC roster. He recently came off a majority decision win over rising lightweight star Rafael Fiziev, where ‘The Highlight’ landed so many powerful strikes that it left Fiziev’s face all bloodied up. Moreover, a UFC fan posted a collage of four of Gaethje’s opponents whose faces he had wrecked up on social, including former UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez.

However, ‘The Underground King’ clapped back at the fan. Alvarez didn’t agree with him and responded by expressing his dissension with the fan. A lot of UFC lovers reacted to the exchange between the two on social media.

The fan in question goes by the username ‘rainmater’ and posted a collage of the battered faces of the UFC fighters, including Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson, Rafel Fiziev, and Eddie Alvarez. However, Alvarez took notice of it and responded to the fan. He commented: “Don’t put me up there please, Im a huge fan of Justin [Gaethje] but I Koed him. Them Other fellas got whooped.”

‘The Underground King’ reminded the fan that he had never been a victim of Justin Gaethje. In fact, out of all the fighters in the collated picture, Alvarez was the only one who defeated ‘The Highlight’ via a knockout win, which took place at UFC 218. However, the former lightweight champion assured the fan that he respects Justin Gaethje as a competitor.

A fan argued that Eddie Alvarez’s knockout win over ‘The Highlight’ left him looking like a character from the musical ensemble, ‘Muppets’. Some of the fans are of the opinion that Alvarez acted as a “damage sponge” for most of his UFC career.

However, Eddie Alvarez’s UFC days are behind him. He has since competed in other notable MMA organizations. But Justin Gaethje is eyeing another run for the lightweight title. He recently mentioned in the octagon interview that he will stop fighting after some time. We will have to see what pans out in the coming months.
