Elon Musk, the South African-born billionaire, recently appeared on the latest episode of the ‘Full Send Podcast’ with Nelk boys. Nelk boys are associated with one of the biggest MMA promotions in the world UFC for a long time now. Therefore, it was evident they would ask the SpaceX CEO about UFC, which is exactly what they did.

The Nelk boys asked Musk if he follows the UFC. The 51-year-old acknowledged that he occasionally watches UFC fights. Musk, though, spent a lot of time discussing earlier UFC battles where there were no set regulations.
The founder of Tesla also recalls witnessing UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie compete back when the promotion first started. Musk thinks that the weight categories and combat rules have made MMA fights more technical now.
“I watch UFC occasionally these days. I watch the early fights with Royce Gracie… Crazy… That was like they didn’t have any rules, basically. I mean, they technically had some rules,” Musk said.
“Because you know you can’t like eye gouging, knee caps or throat, you know… I see occasional once. It’s still interesting to watch. There’s a lot more technique. These days they have like weight categories,” Musk added.

Further on Musk added, “Because if you have some 300 pounds guy go against 100 pounds guy, it’s not gonna be a contest… It’s pretty well seeing these fights. I mean, it is a tough gig.”
Elon Musk once challenged Vladimir Putin for one-on-one combat

It was then that the Tesla founder challenged Putin for single combat, given the latter’s judo roots. Musk took to his official Twitter account and called out the Russian president. The challenger also kept Ukraine at stake in this fight.
This news made headlines. And even the UFC color commentator Joe Rogan chimed in his thoughts on Musk’s challenge. The 54-year-old MMA enthusiast offered to train the SpaceX CEO for this fight. However, for some reason, Musk’s challenge never came to fruition.
