Calling out fighters, agitating them, and getting a reaction out of them – it’s all a part of the game. UFC fighters know how to rile each other up with their words and actions to hype a fight. Now although there is no fight card in the making for Merab Dvalishvili, he did manage to ruffle Sean O’Malley‘s feathers.

O’Malley, who is currently preparing to fight the Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 for the title, is quite popular among the fans. That is why, when Merab Dvalishvili stole O’Malley’s red jacket, the fans were not too happy with him. It all started back in May (6 May to be precise), when current Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling beat legendary UFC fighter Henry Cejudo at UFC 288. Things took a turn for the worse when Sean O’Malley entered the ring after the fight. After a while, officials had to be brought in to keep both fighters from ‘having a go’ at each other, as things quickly spiraled out of control.

Amidst all this, Bantamweight fighter Merab Dvalishvili, who happens to be the best friend of Aljamain Sterling, seized the opportunity to steal O’Malley’s jacket and wear it himself. He then quickly ran to the cage fence and perched himself atop that, waving to the fans and celebrating his ‘win’. O’Malley was visibly displeased with this and tried to get his jacket back, annoyed. However, in a later press conference, he revealed that he was really amused by it and had chosen to ‘give’ Dvalishvili the jacket since he liked it so much.

It seems Dvalishvili is going to be wearing it ringside on 20 August as well. But the question is, will Sterling be able to secure a wine? Or will all of Dvalishvili’s stunts disintegrate as O’Malley picks up the mantle this time? Only time will tell.
