Charles Oliveira is arguably one of the best lightweight fighters that the UFC has had in recent times. Being a part of the promotion for over ten years, Oliveira now holds multiple records in the UFC and is undeniably the most dangerous 155-pounder in the division.

In a recent interview, the Brazilian opened up about the commission stripping him off of his UFC title, and the impact it had on his family.
‘Do Bronx’ revealed in episode #418 of the Podpah podcast, that he was going to cry after receiving phone calls back from home.

Oliveira said, “Arizona Commission robbed me. The commission robbed me. They tried to mess with my head, to get me down and sad. After the news broke in Brazil and the news got to my dad. My dad lives in the countryside, on a farm. My dad called me crying like a child. I told him everything would be fine. But my dad kept crying. He asked me, ‘What about your legacy?’ And I wanted to cry, but I couldn’t.”

“After that, my daughter called. She’s 5 years old. ‘Daddy, did they take your belt?’ I said, ‘No, go to daddy’s house. It’s there. You can see it’s there, in the same place as always.’ And f**. Imagine your ex-wife has to take your daughter to your house so she will believe you,” added Olveira.

‘Do Bronx’ then spoke about how he turned his sorrow into strength and used it to get motivated to fight. He said, “All this happening got me fired up. It got me motivated. So everyone around me was sad. So I said, ‘Turn that f**ing music louder, bro. I’m gonna kill that guy [Justin Gaethje]. I’m gonna take his soul at the weigh-ins.”

Does Tony Ferguson want Charles Oliveira next?
Tony Ferguson reacted to a snippet of Oliveira’s heartfelt story that went viral online. El Cucuy praised Oliveira for his UFC 269 performance and was also happy to see him fight well.

However, from what he wrote online, it seems like Ferguson wants Oliveira in the octagon next. “See You Soon Kid 🥇Glad You Fought Well,” wrote Ferguson.
