UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev has slowly blown into stardom after winning all his fights and viciously destroying most of his opponents. Recently, the Swedish fighter took on the likes of former title contender Gilbert Burns and proved to the world that he was not just all hype. This was a major win for his career, but the fashion in which he won it didn’t resonate well with the fans.

In a close bout, he edged past Burns, winning by Unanimous Decision (29-28,29-28,29-28). The fans weren’t too happy with his performance, as some of them felt Chimaev didn’t win in dominating fashion. Few others even felt that Burns did enough to grab the victory. Former UFC fighter and now coach Reza Madadi gave his take on the fans hating at Khamzat.

He said,” But the thing is expectation of Khamzat is like this, and everybody thought hey he’s gonna go through him like a piece of cake. But this MMA, is the highest level. I think Khamzat did a wonderful job.”

He continued by stating, “He didn’t keep to the game plan at all, he wanted fight and now he knows what he need. He came to the fight, it was a tough fight. He bring it everything, he put everything there and you build up your confidence. He showed what he is capable to do, and I’m very happy after that fight.”

The Swede is currently ranked #3 in the welterweight division. He has his eyes on the title fight against Kamaru Usman, but the UFC has confirmed nothing. It’s unlikely that he will directly be given the title fight. This is because he wasn’t ranked in the top 10, just a fight ago. But don’t be too surprised if it ends up happening.

He could potentially fight anyone in the top 5 as his next opponent since it makes sense ranking-wise. On top of this, he’s beefing with other big shots of the division like Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington, making them his potential future matchups.
