Only a few forces can scare the entire MMA world like Khamzat Chimaev has. When he stares down an opponent at the start of the fight in the Octagon, we all wonder what his opponent is thinking. But that has never mattered enough. Because we all remember what ‘Borz’ did to Robert Whittaker when they fought. Not even a punch was thrown up to that point, but ‘The Reaper’s jaw was broken, and he had to leave the Octagon bleeding, wondering how Chimaev pulled this off.

However, in a previous fight that happened in 2022, Chimaev found himself standing against Kevin Holland at UFC 279. That performance was similar to what he did against Whittaker, but even if Holland didn’t end up with a broken jaw, his body had broken under the pressure of ‘Borz’. Within just over two minutes, Chimaev secured a D’Arce choke, forcing Holland to tap out at 2:13 of the first round.

Remarkably, Chimaev absorbed zero strikes during the fight, marking the fourth time he achieved such a feat in the UFC. The ‘Trailblazer’ suffered several broken vessels in his eyes and the aftermath of the fight, when he finally revealed this, fans were left in horror, thinking about the sacrifices of the fight game.

Holland revealed, “Okay, my eyes. Yeah my eyes are only red because someone was poking them in the fight. Look at that, eye pokes, eye pokes! Look at that, why don’t you guys understand it? There are eye pokes.”

Holland believed he was eye-poked by Chimaev in their fight. According to him, the pokes by Chimaev were the reason his eye vessels were damaged and accused Chimaev of cheating in their fight. But not a single strike landed in their fight? So does that mean the squeeze of Chimaev was enough?

Upon seeing this post, fans could only talk about two things: one, how powerful Khamzat Chimaev is. And for the second, they just could not reciprocate the kind of damage that ‘Borz’ had caused to Holland. Not just horror, their reactions were of pure disbelief.

Is Khamzat Chimaev's raw power enough to dethrone Dricus Du Plessis, or will strategy prevail?

“How does this even happen?”- Fans react in shock and horror at Khamzat Chimaev’s strength

The Chechen Wolf with an undefeated record of 14-0 will now soon compete for the middleweight title. At UFC 319, his winning streak of 8 fights in the promotion will stand against the champion Dricus Du Plessis, who is on a nine-fight win streak himself. Subsequently, the challenger is a topic of discussion, and while discussing what ‘Borz’ did to Holland, the reactions of the fans were filled with questions and terror over Chimaev’s raw power.

With this sentiment, one fan commented, “Over 20 years of watching MMA and I thought I’d seen it all.” And we have to agree with him, we and even UFC boss Dana White knows Chimaev is a force never seen before. Another fan commenting on his brute strength, “That is not w**d, bro. Those are broken blood vessels from trauma, not irritation from smoke.” It makes you wonder if there’s any truth to his comment, just how scary Chimaev really is.

“One of the most deadliest in the first round.” This is what a fan commented, highlighting the intensity of ‘Borz’ from the second a fight starts. Another fan took a satirical route with his compliment for Chimaev, saying, “Bro was squeezing the performance bonus out of him.” While another fan commented, “That squeeze must be insane.” Yet one fan made a bold prediction favoring Khamzat to beat down ‘DDP’ similarly, commenting, “Yeah no way DDP is beating this guy.”

So will his predictions come true? Will we see a similar first-round domination from Chimaev, that even Du Plessis’ randomosity will not be able to counter? While that may be the prediction for many, we cannot count on the 185-pound kingpin. With victories over the most elite group of the current middleweight era, even when he wasn’t a champion, Du Plessis has shown a champion’s heart. Yet against ‘Borz’, all have tried, and all have failed. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
