Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley does not like Dana White. ‘The Chosen One’, of course, was the 170-pound champ before the Kamaru Usman era began in 2019. Today, more people may know him as the guy who lost to Jake Paul and had  ‘The Problem Child’s name tattooed on his body. But the older fans will remember that Woodley was the man at welterweight for a few good years before ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ dethroned him.

Older fans will also remember that the former champ and the promotion did not have the best of relationships, which Woodley thinks was because “they felt like, ‘This mother—er thinks he’s too smart.” In fact, Woodley, who felt constantly mistreated by them, got so mad at the UFC CEO at one point that his 2019 diss track, ‘I’ll beat yo a–” featuring Wiz Khalifa was actually aimed at the Bossman.

“That’s why I made the [diss song] ‘I beat yo a–‘. If you listen to the lyrics, it was for Dana White. I couldn’t say I wanted to beat Dana White’s a-s, but I wanted to bad because he made me look stupid.” Woodley told MMA coach extraordinaire, Eric Nicksick in a recent interview on his YouTube channel.

To be fair to Woodley, among other things, the UFC CEO had publicly excoriated his performance in his UFC 214 Demian Maia clash. Not to mention, White had shot down a possible Woodley-Nate Diaz clash for UFC 219 after Woodley had publicly announced. However, the list of grievances ‘T-Wood’ had against the UFC CEO is much more extensive than this.

For instance, the former champ feels that the UFC did not promote him enough or give him big legendary names like Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz. But these highlights should give you an idea about why exactly ‘The Chosen One’ was so mad at the guy writing his checks.

How did people miss the Dana White reference despite Woodley naming him in the diss track?

The theme of Tyron Woodley’s diss track, ‘I’ll beat yo a–‘, as you can imagine, is that he will beat some unnamed guy’s a–. In fact, if you listen to the track, you probably won’t know that it is aimed at the UFC CEO. This is why until Woodley made this revelation on Nicksick’s podcast, no one would even know that the former champion was talking about White.

Except, perhaps, for one specific part in the first verse of the song, which kind of names the UFC CEO. And it is easy to see why Woodley has waited so long to reveal the song was meant for Dana White. Because if the American had revealed that back when the song came out, he would probably have been out of a job.
