Ever since UFC 295 concluded with Tom Aspinall sending Sergei Pavlovich into the shadow realm to clinch the interim heavyweight crown, there has been an outcry from the fans and experts alike to witness the unification bout against ‘undisputed’ king Jon Jones. The pain of watching the fight being delayed time and time again remains fresh. Whether it’s Jones demanding “f–k you money” to be onboard for the bout or an uncanny time frame of six months if and when the bout is made official. The tactics and mind games have been all over the place.

Fight fans know that this isn’t only a clash between a champion and an interim champion to unify the belts, but instead, this is a generational clash that would decide the future of the 265lbs division in the UFC. If you ask Dana White, then the bout is all set but done. If you ask Aspinall, some positive news is coming soon, as he met UFC CBO Hunter Campbell in March. And if you ask Jones, he hinted at the bout via his latest Instagram post, where he displayed his illustrious Hall of Fame-worthy accolade room with posters of his different bouts placed on the walls.

However, one spot was missing, and Jones captioned the post, “Now, as you can see… still haven’t framed or hung the Stipe fight yet. Been moving a million miles an hour lately. But there’s one last perfect spot left on my wall of victory.” So, can that legacy-making fight be against the Englishman? We will have to find out. However, the buzz regarding what White has called the “biggest heavyweight clash in UFC history” is high, and it seems that the former World’s Strongest Man has picked his side.

Eddie Hall recently stirred the pot on Facebook by sharing a meme that poked fun at Jones. The meme stated: “8 billion people on this earth, and not a single one can beat this man [Jon Jones] one on one.” But Hall wasn’t buying it. Adding his own twist, the British strongman captioned, “Batman voice: There is one man.” followed by a laughing emoji— clearly hinting at fellow Brit and interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, as the one capable of dethroning Jones.

Hall backing Aspinall makes absolute sense, considering the two have a strong training relationship and are pretty close. In the past, the English strongman has even admitted that Aspinall humbled him with his uncanny skill set! In an interview with Bloody Elbow, he admitted,

“Look, man, I’m not Jon Jones, but I can honestly, hand on heart, say I’ve never had such a humbling experience as to getting in the ring with Tom Aspinall and sparring. Doing the grappling, because you just feel like a little girl. Even a man my size, he just uses your strengths against you, and his hands are so fast. His footwork is just incredible. You just feel like a f—ing f—y to go in the ring and doing business with Tom Aspinall.”

He added, “And that’s me, that’s like a ‘World’s Strongest Man’ saying that. It’s a very humbling experience going in the ring with Tom.” Sounds scary, right? Surely this much of an onslaught has the potential to brew up a new fire in Jones to prove the world wrong and beat Aspinall. But for that, he has to come forward and accept the bout first. While everyone chooses to pick favorites, one cannot count out the ability of Jones inside the Octagon.

Eddie Hall enters the Octagon for his MMA debut at KSW 105

Edward Hall is far more than just a strongman adorned with accolades, though he certainly has plenty of those. Known for his massive strength, yes—but it’s his larger-than-life personality, charm, and humor that truly set him apart. Best known for winning the World’s Strongest Man title in 2017 and famously setting the world record deadlift at 500 kg, Hall has since shifted gears from strongman competitions to test his mettle in a new arena: mixed martial arts.

And what a debut it was. At KSW 105, Hall stepped into the MMA cage for the first time to face none other than Mariusz Pudzianowski—a five-time World’s Strongest Man champion and a seasoned MMA veteran. What followed shocked the combat sports world: in under 30 seconds, Hall unleashed a flurry of devastating power shots, bulldozing Pudzianowski and securing a stunning knockout victory.

The crowd erupted. The moment was electric. And while the fight ended too quickly to fully assess Hall’s MMA skill set, one thing was clear: ‘The Beast’ brings terrifying power with him wherever he goes. Wherever Hall ventures next, one thing is certain: he won’t walk alone. He carries with him a loyal fan base, cheering him on every step of the way.
