Fans all around the world are eagerly waiting for UFC superstar Conor McGregor to return to the octagon. It is quite clear by the end of 2022, that the Irishman will set his foot back in the UFC in 2023. However, it took a while for the final confirmation and the audience had a great surprise. Instead of fighting an opponent straight in the octagon, the UFC superstar will first serve as a coach in the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter. The three-time Bellator champion, Michael Chandler, will coach against McGregor.

After the end of the season, the coaches will fight against each other. That is, the audience will have to wait a few months to finally see the two in the octagon. Nonetheless, it is true that ‘The Notorious’ did not have a single victory in the past three years. During his last match at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, the ringside doctor stopped the fight in round 1 as McGregor suffered a broken tibia. At the moment, the Irishman has finally spoken about his comeback against Michael Chandler.

TUF 31: ‘The Notorious’ vs. ‘Iron’

Previously the retired UFC champion, Daniel Cormier has warned Chandler about the same. In an interview with ESPN MMA, Cormier said he expects ‘Iron’ to be a better coach than the Irishman. The UFC commentator went on to emphasize how dangerous it was for Chandler to train for six weeks with Mystic Mac. He reinforced that it would be more difficult than the actual fight. Cormier provides evidence to support his assertion. He talked about how the Irishman kept jabbing Urijah Faber in TUF 22, even after not having to fight against him at the end of the season. DC emphasized that Chandler shouldn’t let the Irishman’s insults get to him because that could make him mentally weak before the bout.
