Conor McGregor might not be fighting inside the Octagon himself, but his role as a promoter at BKFC has worked wonders for the promotion. Since ‘Mystic Mac’ acquired a minority stake in the organization, he has been heavily involved in trying to turn it into one of the top fighting entertainment platforms in the world. Slowly but surely, it appears he is succeeding in that mission. However, despite the success, McGregor’s BKFC appears to have faded in fornt of former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal.

During an exclusive conversation with EssentiallySports, Jorge Masvidal shared his unbothered reaction to the rise of BKFC, explaining that his own promotion will surpass them in no time. Our host, ‘Andrew Whitelaw’ asked about the rivalry, “Conor says BKFC is more entertaining. Do you think Gamebred’s taking it to another level, making it more interesting?” The former UFC fighter emphasized that he has no interest in witnessing any BKFC match.

“I don’t watch bare-knuckle boxing; I could give a f–k unless I watch boxing. But bare-knuckle MMA is what I f—ing love. You know, it’s a raw form of combat; that’s how combat started. This is not embarrassing; bare-knuckle boxing is not necessarily bare-knuckle boxing because the rules are different. They have the clinch; they have rounds that are different,” said Masvidal.

He further added, “It’s a new sport; it’s a new thing. My thing is the raw form of combat. You know, this is MMA. What are you good at fighting? Bring it to the table. Notice you can’t kick, can’t elbow, can’t do anything. So, I don’t know what the f–k you’re talking about. It’s exciting!” Jorge Masvidal started the BareKnuckle MMA promotion back in April 2021, with the inaugural event happening on June 25, 2021, in Miami.  Three years have passed since the inauguration of the promotion and it has been growing tremendously, at least as per Masvidal, “We are growing at a rate that’s impressive; it’s crazy! So, I always want to thank all my fans””not just my fans, but fans of the promotion.”

Regardless, the former UFC fighter further emphasizes that the biggest event of his promotion is set to happen on November 15th and he is fully committed to making it a masterclass, “I just know that come November 15th, I got the most violent show on the planet guaranteed.” Well, this is not the first time, Jorge Massvidal has actively called out Conor McGregor, according to him, ‘Mystic Mac’ will never fight again let alone get inside the Octagon.

Jorge Masvidal doesn’t think Conor McGregor’s comeback will happen

Conor McGregor‘s comeback was supposed to happen at the UFC 303 PPV but a minor toe injury derailed his comeback story. With no option left, Michael Chandler refused to wait any further as he chose to clash against Charles Oliveira rather than wait for ‘Mystic Mac.’ Even the UFC CEO Dana White emphasized that he would not talk about Conor McGregor’s return to the Octagon till he himself gets the assurance about the return. Regardless, according to the former ‘BMF’ champion, Jorge Masvidal, the former dual-weight champion of the world will not be a fighter ever again.

While having a conversation with ‘MMAFighting’ Masvidal stated, “We’ll see him at a bar and s–t. Are you talking about in the cage? Like as an official or to be judges? You mean fighting? I don’t think so. I hope he proves me wrong but I don’t think so.” When asked if he has any intention of fighting the former dual-weight champion, Masvidal stated, “Conor, under no circumstances, is fighting me.”

He further added, “He’s backed out of fighting Chandler ”” poor little Chandler, I don’t know how many times he let that dude eat dust. Imagine me? That guy is never fighting me.” A rivalry appears to be intensifying here. Will we witness a fight between these hotshots? Only time will tell. Regardless, what’s your take on Jorge Masvidal’s comments? State your thoughts in the comments below.
