Joe Rogan has a massive podcast platform where he discusses a plethora of impromptu topics. In the latest edition of his Spotify podcast, his guest Dr. Gabor Mate had a distinctive take on 67th United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s biography that was narrated by Morgan Freeman. Dr. Mate brought up the discussion after a heavy conversation about traumas being generalized by people.

A Physician, Dr. Mate, whose latest book ‘The Myth of Normal’ is available now, came for a chat with UFC commentator Joe Rogan on episode #1869 of Spotify’s number one podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

The 78-year-old wanted Joe Rogan’s opinion on a story he conveyed.

“If I told you about a four-year-old who is bullied by neighborhood kids… one of them runs into the house to their mom and say for protection. And the mom said to her, ‘there is no room for cowards in this house. Now, you get out and deal with it.’ How would you see that?”

The 55-year-old podcaster responded, “Well, it’s abusive.”

The guest asked again to assure that Rogan found it ‘abusive and traumatizing.’

Dr. Mate revealed whose description he mentioned in his story

While the millionaire podcast host and millions of other listeners might have thought of the Physician’s story as some kind of example, the guest revealed it was – Hillary Clinton’s story from her bio.

“This story was told on public television in the United States in front of a cheering audience, millions of people watching on television at the Democratic convention in 2016 when Hillary Clinton was nominated… It was the voice of god: Morgan Freeman who actually narrated this bio documentary about her.”

“And this is presented as a wonderful example of resilience building. And so I’m saying traumas are so normalized in this culture that even when this horrific incident is being depicted on television, in front of millions of people. People think this is wonderful,” said Dr. Mate.

Rogan reflected on the incident and labeled it as a ‘problem’. Further, he added, “you look at the end result, you have this extremely unlikable woman.”

Joe Rogan showed empathy towards Hillary Clinton

After the former Fear Factor host’s remark, the guest said, “She has built a defense around herself… It’s a simple trauma response.”

Joe Rogan agreed and said, “It’s even sadder because she’s old and she doesn’t recognize this pathway. She doesn’t recognize where she is and why.”

This discussion further led to them reflecting upon people in the past beating their kids. And the JRE host was baffled at how it was considered a normal practice for them.
