“Who’s gonna carry the boats?” Maybe Israel Adesanya can—or maybe he can’t. The former two-time middleweight king is now knee-deep in the pain cave, training with none other than David Goggins after dropping three consecutive wars against the best in the division. Following in the gritty footsteps of Tony Ferguson, Adesanya is enduring Goggins’ infamous “Hell Week”. Haunted by back-to-back losses, it seems ‘The Last Stylebender’ is going to extreme lengths in his quest for redemption. But here’s the question: is this hardcore grind a blessing or a breakdown in disguise? Fans love Adesanya, but many are starting to worry—can his body and mind withstand this level of punishment?

The American ultramarathoner tried his best to break Tony Ferguson ahead of his bout against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296, but ‘El Cucuy’ survived the hellish endurance training. Although the training had no real meaning as the former interim lightweight champion failed to secure a victory inside the Octagon, it was a memorable collaboration between an influencer and a fighter. This time, it’s for Adesanya to break his body to the core.

In a video uploaded by ‘HomeFighting’ on their X handle, a concerning update emerged regarding Israel Adesanya’s health. The former two-time middleweight champion was seen vomiting after training alongside an ultramarathon runner. As Adesanya vomits into a bucket, David Goggins said, “M——-er thought this was a joke, a fu—–g game. It ain’t no game, bro — this is all about the fight here.”

For the unreserved, David Goggins’ Hell Week is an ultimate test of endurance and mental toughness. It is a formal part of Navy SEAL training. The entire training lasts for 5.5 days, where the participants will have to suffer sleep deprivation, brutal physical exertion, freezing water, and constant pain. Most of the candidates are pushed to their breaking points without any mercy so that they will understand their bodies better. Goggins survived this training three times, making him one of the few men on the face of the earth to do so.

Is this training feasible for UFC fighters? Tony Ferguson survived it, but his performance against Paddy Pimblett didn’t improve much. Could this training have any impact on Israel Adesanya? It’s possible, but fans are concerned about one thing: Adesanya’s health.

Fans worry about Israel Adesanya’s health as they draw parallels to Tony Ferguson

Tony Ferguson is known as one of the most unhinged fighters in the history of the promotion. The former interim lightweight champion simply doesn’t know when to give up. His training with David Goggins was nothing short of a hell week. Looking at this, a fan wrote, “So did Ferguson, and look how that turned out for him.”

David Goggins has trained alongside many fighters but was only officially part of Tony Ferguson’s camp. While Goggins does help improve a fighter’s cardio, what Israel Adesanya currently lacks is the ability to defend himself when his opponent rushes in. A fan added, “I just dont get the appeal. Sure, the dude is a beast for cardio but its not like he is some legendary coach.”

Ferguson described the experience as “hard as f—-, one of the hardest things I’ve done in my life.” However, he did emphasize he needed it to understand his game better, but what ensued was just tragic as Paddy Pimblett ran across him to win the battle by way of unanimous decision. A fan reminded Adesanya that he might face the same fate, “Same happened to Tony, after this he’ll lose next fight.”

Furthermore, a social media user gave a reality check to the former two-time middleweight champion,” Is he training for a triathlon or perhaps a marathon? Imavo didint knock him out because he has bad cardio but because he didint have good defense, work on that rather than wasting time with goggins.”

Moreover, another fan had a request for David Goggins, “bruh you’re gonna kill him, you trained tony the same way and he was worse than before. izzy is dumb asf training with a bum like goggins.”

Last but not least, a fan added, “That’s second mma legend puking his gut’s out after training with him.”
