Everybody and their grandma knows Dana White thinks Jon Jones is the greatest ever mixed martial artist. Although the UFC CEO and the heavyweight champion have not always seen eye-to-eye, it seems White has a newfound respect for ‘Bones’ as the latter approaches the end of his career. And the Power Slap founder has been calling Jon Jones the GOAT every chance he gets over the past few months, to the point that fans have started accusing White of ‘glazing’ Jones.

But Dana White, of course, is not one to be affected by what others think or say about him. So much so that when a hysterical fan, who was screaming at the top of his lungs, asked the UFC CEO on UFC 306 at the iconic Sphere who was the GOAT of MMA, White answered, equally loudly “Jon Jones!”

Of course, many fans see this as a simple marketing ploy to hype up Jones’ upcoming fight against Stipe Miocic on UFC 309 this November. However, White has made quite a compelling case for Jones being the greatest ever to strap up the fingerless gloves. His primary argument is that no man has been able to beat Jones in the octagon in the decade and a half he has been fighting. This, of course, is quite an achievement and nigh impossible.

Two of the other GOAT contenders, Georges St-Pierre and Demetrious Johnson have both lost; while Khabib Nurmagomedov retired prematurely before he could really be tested. And all of that was encapsulated in the UFC CEO screaming out Jones’ name to the aforementioned fan at The Sphere. Fans, of course, were tickled by the whole affair.

Fans react to Dana White’s high-decibel declaration that Jon Jones is the GOAT

One fan loved how Dana White remained undeterred by the ‘glazing’ allegations and was leaning into what, at this point, has become a meme: “Love how Dana is embracing it 😭” Another impressed fan simply felt that, contrary to the archetype of a CEO, who are generally extremely careful and soft-spoke, White was in a league of his own: “Dana is the coolest CEO”

Another fan was amused to see that White, despite the question being repeated to him countless times, and particularly the way he was asked the GOAT question, was actually having fun with the whole thing: “Dana is having way too much fun with it 😂😂😂”

Another fan saw a much more sinister reason for the UFC CEO embracing the GOAT debate: to make fans forget about the infamous ‘oil up Dana White’ meme: “I think Dana did all of this to make us forget about the oiling up thing”

One fan repeated another popular meme about Jones and White, where the UFC CEO had claimed (in the context of who the ‘baddest’ man on the planet was) that ‘Bones’ is the only one who walks out of a room regardless of who walks in there with him: “if you put Jon Jones and Dana in the same room none of them are coming out”

In contrast, another fan was far more critical of Dana White calling Jones the GOAT, reminding fellow fans that Jones was ducking interim heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall: “Jones ain’t the goat hes scared to fight Tom spinal”
