Dustin Poirier may fight Conor McGregor

Recently, at UFC Vegas 82, ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier was spotted in the audience. ESPN’s Megan Olivi managed to grab hold of him for an interview. During the conversation, Olivi brought up Conor McGregor‘s comment about not being finished with Poirier after their trilogy fight. Olivi then went on to ask Poirier’s opinion on McGregor’s statement.

Poirier was clear in his stance and stated that he would fight Conor  McGregor to shut him down but he further explained that even if he defeats McGregor, he would still run his mouth against him. “We’ll see. I probably would try to shut him up once and for all. But even if I slap his a** around again, he’s still gonna be chatting.”

Poirier in the end explained that a fight with McGregor may sound a bit far-fetched but it could happen. The 34-year-old believes that a fight against his former rival could prove to be a big one. “Two in one against him. I don’t really see another reason for it. But it’d be a huge fight,”

Poirier’s sudden statement and willingness to fight McGregor was caught off-guard by the fans. They were expecting that the ‘Diamond vs. Notorious’ clash ended with UFC 264.
