Debates around different martial arts and their efficiency have been ongoing amongst fans and followers of combat sports over recent years. While promotions like the UFC have proven that sports like boxing, wrestling, or Jiu Jitsu are much better when it comes to combat as compared to some of the traditional forms of martial arts; there are few who still strongly believe that practices like Tai Chi are superior to some of the earlier mentioned sports.

Addressing this debate, the world has seen multiple fights take place between experts from traditional martial arts and professional MMA fighters. Many of these fights are easily available on the internet and one such fight happened to recently go viral on Twitter. Posted by a popular combat sports page, this fight clip between a Tai Chi practitioner and an MMA fighter showed the glaring differences in the skills and effectiveness of the two sports. As the clip gained traction, reactions from fans poured in as many commented on the outcome of the fight.

Fans react to the clip of the knockout

As the video started doing the rounds, MMA fans had a field day, as many of them took digs at the Tai Chi practitioner. While some did that, a few commented on the outcome of the fight and the manner in which the Tai Chi master was carried away following his knockout.

One of the first tweets claimed that after this loss, Tai Chi would probably lose its credibility.

One individual wondered why such fights were even allowed to take place, considering that most of them ended badly. “Why do they keep sanctioning these fights?” he asked.

A few tweets took a jibe at the Tai Chi practitioner, dismissing his claims of being a master.

Many of the reactions were also on the man’s age, as he clearly looked much older than the MMA fighter. One individual even recalled of one Dominick Cruz‘s fights earlier in his career.

One fan expressed his shock at the way the Tai Chi master was carried out in the end.

The ending of the clip clearly shocked a few people, and it was quite evident in their tweets as well.
