It’s official! Marlon Vera will be facing Sean O’Malley once again. However, will the outcome be the same as the last time? ‘Chito’ Vera is fairly confident he’s bringing the belt back with him but O’Malley is no small challenge. The fighter has had a chance to grow since their last meeting.

Dana White just recently took to his socials to announce the card. It will be going down sometime next year around the months of February and March. While the exact pay-per-view event has not been announced, there are hints and pieces to guess the date from. Either way, Vera’s warning online is currently what’s caught fans’ attention.

Marlon Vera issues a warning to ‘Suga’

Marlon Vera first went up against ‘Suga’ back in August 2020. This was at UFC 252, and Vera took O’Malley down via a first-round knockout. It wasn’t the greatest of performance by the current bantamweight champion but it’s been years since then.

And it’ll be even longer when the two finally go up against one another once again. The potential date for the two to go against could be March as declared by White. The potential event? It could be UFC 299, this is merely an estimate that comes from the confirmation of another matchup.

That’s right, White has also confirmed a match between Illia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski in February. This fight will go down at UFC 298 and it will be for the featherweight title. So if Vera goes up in arms against O’Malley next month, it may as well be at UFC 299 or perhaps even UFC 300.

Vera took to Instagram and promised his fans and perhaps even himself that the belt was coming with him- “One way or another this belt is coming home.” A warning to O’Malley that either Vera takes the belt from him, or he’ll take it from whoever manages to beat ‘Suga’ in the future. Nevertheless, his closest shot is doing it himself and it’s going to happen soon. Here’s how fans and fellow fighters reacted to the post.
