One of the most entertaining MMA fighters, Michael ‘Venom’ Page, is now a free agent. He fought under the Bellator banner for nine years and participated in some of the most entertaining and iconic moments ever. Recently, he announced his free agency in the latest episode of ‘The MMA Hour’. And fans  couldn’t help but give their take to the news on social media.

‘Venom’ racked up a lot of records during his stint with Bellator. He has the highest number of knockout victories in Bellator’s welterweight and all other divisions. Let us take a look at what he had to say about his current status as an MMA fighter.

During his appearance in ‘The MMA Hour’, Michael Page stated that he was out of the job. He said, “So I am currently unemployed.” Moreover, he claims to be exploring other options in the world of MMA. Page added, “I am officially a free agent. [I am] no longer with Bellator at the moment. So just exploring this space currently.” ‘Venom’ assured that he isn’t going to stop anytime soon. Instead, he wants to see where his value is at. ‘MMAFighting’ shared a post regarding his free agency announcement and fans flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts about the situation.

It thrilled fans to hear that Michael Page became a free agent

BKFC’s Mike Perry commented on the post and said, “PFL (Platinum Fight League).” It could be an indicator that he wants him to fight in BKFC. Meanwhile, the fans believe that Page could be a welcome addition to the UFC’s welterweight division. They believe that he’s a low-risk investment at that. Others started calling for dream matchups with fighters like Stephen Thompson and even Kevin Holland. Here are some reactions from fans on Instagram.

The fans were glad to see him get out of Bellator and hope that he joins the UFC. An Instagram user even suggested that he join Karate Combat or ONE championship, considering the fact that he is a kickboxer as well. However, a UFC fan wanted to see him join Dana White‘s Contender Series.

When Michael Page was fighting in Bellator, he also got the opportunity to compete in boxing fights. However, he might not get that opportunity if he signs with the UFC. But, being one of the biggest names in MMA outside of Dana White’s promotion. We will have to wait and see how things pan out for Venom in the days to come.
