The women’s division has seen a massive shift in the final leg of UFC events in 2021. Long-time double champion Amanda Nunes’s upset loss to Julianna Pena has changed the dynamics of the women’s division.

It has also compelled former champion, Miesha Tate, to switch divisions as she doesn’t want to face her friend. This has fetched a call out from a former UFC fighter, who is looking to rematch her in 2022.

Miesha Tate is definitely going to have a busy year in 2022

Miesha Tate has been booked to face Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night on May 14. This bout will serve as her debut within the division, as Tate is gunning to face Valentina Shevchenko. Now, yet another fighter has dropped her in the hat to face the p4p queen of UFC in 2022, and that fight is Rin Nakai (22-2-1).

The former UFC fighter last fought in the promotion back in 2016 and suffered two losses against Tate and Leslie Smith. After leaving the promotion, Nakai has also dropped down to flyweight and has won 6 fights in a row.

Taking aim at the UFC star, Nakai took to Twitter to issue a challenge to Tate and the reigning flyweight queen for a potential fight in 2022.

Miesha Tate dropped to flyweight. It’s the same class as me. I hope to rematch with Miesha Tate. I am confident to win. Please put me in the UFC. On the contrary, I want to play Valentina Shevchenko #UFC #MieshaTate #ValentinaShevchenko.

Nakai has been out of the octagon since 2019, and in her last outing, she managed to claim a submission victory over Titapa Junsookplung. Now, the former UFC fighter is hoping to make her return to the promotion, but this time in the flyweight division.

She has set her sight on claiming the UFC Gold, but it won’t be an easy task to accomplish. Shevchenko hasn’t dropped one round, let alone a fight, ever since she moved to the flyweight division. The Bullet has also showcased massive improvement in terms of her wrestling and ability to stuff takedowns.
