For as long as it lasted, Luke Rockhold gave his all in his main event bout against Mike Perry at BKFC 41. The former UFC and Strikeforce champion was matching Perry on the feet until he was unable to continue in the second round. The 38-year-old took some clean shots to the face that injured his teeth. Seconds after the referee stepped in, Rockhold stated he was unable to continue.

Although Rockhold lost the bout, he gained the respect of many. A veteran of the MMA scene, there is not much Rockhold has not accomplished. Therefore, his stock did not take too much of a hit after Saturday’s loss. Rockhold did not say anything immediately after the fight. However, he has now addressed the events and given an update on his injuries via a recent Instagram video.

In the clip, Luke Rockhold showed the cut on his lip and the teeth that have been punched in by Mike Perry. Despite wearing the damage, Rockhold looked to be in good spirits. He said, “Well f***, what can I say? You can check bare knuckle off the list.”

He continued, “Some crazy sh*t. Those little knuckles got me … square on the front two. Maybe a beard. Maybe a better mouthpiece.”

He acknowledged Mike Perry saying, “It was a good fight. It’s a shame it had to end that way. Motherf***er Mike, you tough bastard. Congrats.” He ended the message by saying, “Thanks to my sponsors, thanks to the people. I’m not done. Some gloves would be nice, though.”

While the former Ralph Lauren model may find it difficult to model with those scars, he will not have trouble finding more fighting opportunities. At 38 years of age, Rockhold may not be a title contender, but he still has a lot to offer as he did for BKFC the other night.
