Trash talk has become integral to UFC and mixed martial arts culture. Fighters use it as a tool to intimidate and mentally weaken their opponents before a fight. However, fans recently saw an unexpected personality use the tactics of trash talk on the UFC stage. It was none other than the famous Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Recently, a video surfaced of the ‘Nightcrawler’ star trash-talking former MMA fighter Jay Hieron at the stage of a UFC face-off.

In the video, Gyllenhaal gets into Hieron‘s face. He also hurls insults at him, while the crowd cheers him on. The video quickly went viral, with many UFC fans praising Gyllenhaal for his bravado and trash-talking skills.

Jake Gyllenhaal shoots for Road House

However, it was later revealed that the video was actually from a scene in Gyllenhaal‘s upcoming movie, Road House. The movie also stars UFC fighter Conor McGregor, and several scenes were shot during UFC live events, including the one in which we saw Gyllenhaal and Hieron trash-talking.

Post the weigh-in drama, Gyllenhaal even went ahead and gave an interview to the UFC commentator Jon Anik. The commentator pulled the actor aside and said, “Wow, how about that? We’ll first take a minute here with the challenger. Now we’re talking…Did you expect that contention?

It’s probably safe to that being in the same film as ‘The Notorious’ has certainly had some effect on Gyllenhaal.

Road House is a remake of the 1989 classic of the same name and follows a retired UFC fighter (played by Gyllenhaal).
