Conor McGregor is the first fighter in the history of UFC to hold titles in two distinct divisions simultaneously. After claiming the UFC 205 title, ‘The Notorious’ showed the world his proud Irish side. He apologized to absolutely nobody.

Recently, the women’s football team hailing from Irish soil was heard singing a celebratory song that references the Irish Republican Army. Moreover, Conor McGregor supported the proud Irish ladies when they were asked by the Football Association of Ireland for an apology.

FAI asked Irish football players to apologize 

Recently, a celebratory video showed the female Irish football players collectively singing a section from the Celtic Symphony, originally sung by Wolfe Tones. In the video, they could be seen celebrating their victory over the Scottish team in the changing room.

Later, the UEFA launched an investigation regarding the ‘potential inappropriate behavior’ of the team. Nonetheless, the FAI apologized for any possible offense caused by the song. In addition, the teammates made similar apologies, Jamie Ginn, Chloe Mustaki, and Aine O’Gorman, saying that they didn’t mean to harm anyone’s feelings. 

Conor McGregor supports the proud Irish ladies

Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor has tweeted a video supporting the Irish women’s football team and thereby, revealing his proud Irish roots. He congratulated the team in the post saying, “Congrats ladies”, added emojis of a heart and the flag of Ireland.

In the tweet, ‘The Notorious’ spoke the iconic speech he gave during the post-fight interview, after winning his bout against Eddie Alvarez in UFC 205. His infamous words were, “I’d like to apologize to absolutely nobody.” Then he walked around the Octagon with the Irish national flag on his shoulders. In the end, the video then dubs a part of the Celtic Symphony by Wolfe Tones.

Many stood beside Conor McGregor and called him the ‘King’ and praised his patriotism. Balanced against the supporters, others had a bit different say. Thus, the comments section flared up in the heat of the events.
