Conor McGregor did not invent the mental warfare strategy in the UFC. Actually, it was the ‘Bad Guy’ Chael Sonnen who brought trash-talking to the limelight and put on some memorable mic work that fans still look back on. Sonnen never became a world champion like McGregor, but his wrestling prowess and ability to decimate enemies with just words are hailed as some of the best.

Sonnen fought for multiple world titles in UFC, and later on, took his talent to Bellator. This is where his rivalry with Tito Ortiz picked up newfound heat and the duo clashed at Bellator 170.

Unfortunately, Sonnen could not produce a win as Tito Ortiz secured a quick submission win in the first round. Despite that, the bad blood between the duo did not die out as they continued to trade shots on Twitter. Sonnen, being an elite roast master and king of verbal barrage, ensured to attack ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy‘ when unfortunate news of a burglary at his residence broke out.

He took to Twitter to offer a pseudo update suggesting the burglars found nothing of any value- “Update: Thieves break into Tito Ortiz’s house, find nothing of value, then leave $20 and a few scratch-offs.”

According to a report by TMZ Sports, Ortiz’s house, located in Huntington Beach in Southern California, got raided on Friday. It is being said that the UFC legend wasn’t present at the time of the incident and a call was placed by someone in the house early in the morning.

Will former UFC fighters Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen have a fight again?

Tito Ortiz hasn’t offered a response yet, and it seems like the tweet hasn’t reached him. It is quite possible that this tweet would ignite yet another bitter Twitter row between the duo, as both retired mixed martial artists never let an opportunity go by.

Sonnen loves to take a jab at this former foe. He knows Ortiz may have beaten him in a sanctioned bout, but can’t do the same in a verbal fight. The chances of the duo re-matching one another seem highly improbable, as both men have already retired from the sport.
