Former UFC welterweight fighter Mike Perry has signed a multi-fight deal with a new promotion. The UFC veteran will now compete in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. The official Twitter account of BKFC posted the news on their page.

After a decent career in the UFC, Perry was released in 2021. In his UFC stint, ‘Platinum’ defeated notable UFC fighters like Jake Ellenberger, Paul Felder, and Alex Oliveira. An elite striker, the American welterweight will now turn his attention from the MMA universe to the world of bare-knuckle boxing.

BKFC President David Feldman is thrilled to have the former UFC fighter on board. In a statement, he said, “We’re thrilled to bring Mike aboard to our vast stable of exciting fighters. Over the last seven years he’s proven to be one of the toughest fighters in mixed martial arts and his skill set along with his aggressive style works very well for our growing international fan base.”
Mike Perry is excited about the new venture. He said, “I will dismantle the opposition and reach the glory I have longed for my entire life. I will be crowned king of the streets and king of combat sports! They will make me a Platinum Crown and carry me on the bloody backs of my defeated rivals! I am here to go straight to the top and make anyone think twice about entering my world! BKFC is my world!”

Akin to Mike Perry, some other notable names in the UFC have chosen to compete in the bare-knuckle fighting promotions after their UFC release. Former featherweight fighter Chad Mendes signed a multi-fight deal with BKFC.
Furthermore, ‘The Russian Hammer’ Artem Lobov fought at BKFC. However, he left Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship with a 2-1 record under his name.

Paige VanZant left the UFC after losing against Amanda Ribas in 2020. She moved to BKFC and fought twice in the sport, losing both outings. Furthermore, Ricco Rodriguez, Chase Sherman, and Jason Knight are a few other notable names that tasted bare-knuckle fighting.
