UFC star, Miesha Tate, will return to everyone’s screen a little earlier than expected. She is set to join the cast of the upcoming season of ‘Celebrity Big Brother,’

Tate is a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and is scheduled to make a return to the octagon at UFC Fight Night 209. However, she will get extra screen time and exposure before her fight in the show. The show will premier on February 2, 2022, and will go on till February 23. Episodes will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Cupcake‘ will join other notable celebrities like two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom, Olympic medalist Mirai Nagasu, Todd Bridges, and Chris Kattan. Once done with the show, Tate will prepare for her fight against Lauren Murphy on May 14, 2022.

She is not the first UFC fighter to feature on the show. UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, appeared on the show in 2018.

Miesha Tate to make her flyweight debut

Miesha Tate is considered one of the pioneers of women’s mixed martial arts. She, along with Ronda Rousey, made WMMA popular across the globe. ‘Cupcake’ joined the UFC in 2013 and is a former women’s bantamweight champion. Tate retired from the sport back in 2016, but made a surprising return in 2021.

She took on Marion Reneau in her comeback bout and put on an impressive performance. The 19-8 fighter won the fight via TKO in the third round. However, she wasn’t successful in her last fight. She took on Ketlen Vieira at UFC Fight Night 198 and lost the fight via a unanimous decision.

Now she is ready to drop down a weight class and fight in the flyweight division. She is scheduled to take on the number 3 ranked flyweight, Lauren Murphy, at UFC Fight Night 209 on May 14, 2022.

A win over a top-ranked fighter like ‘Lucky‘ will immediately put her in the title picture.
