Some fans were quite aggressive towards Pena. They said:

“Nunes beat the fucking brakes off of Peña.”

“Pena’s striking is some of the worst in the UFC, Nunes can outgrapple her as well and probably KO her in a trilogy”

Some of the comments were extremely funny, although a bit rude towards the former champ.

“Amanda was bowling her over like a cartoon character with those counters, she’s lucky she has a stupid tough Latina chin.”

“I know her game plan was to come forward but someone should’ve told her it doesn’t mean to literally walk forward into every single shot.”

One fan even compared Pena to CM punk.

“I honestly think CM Punk has better striking than Peña, and I’m not exaggerating.”

A couple of the fans called Pena “delusional”.

“There’s confidence and there’s delusion. Peña falls in the latter category.”

“I straight up love Julianna, this level of delusion is admirable”.

One individual even left a somewhat sarcastic comment.

“God damn after getting embarrassed and bullied for 25 min she wants more. Respect the mentality I guess”.

Should UFC make the trilogy between Pena and Nunes?

With news of Amanda Nunes vs Irene Aldana rumored to be in the works, the question of whether Pena deserved the rematch first was quite natural. The fight set to be held on March 4 at UFC 285 will be Nunes’ first rematch after beating Pena at UFC 277.

Although it is not exactly warranted, the trilogy is something that can be set up later on. Although some might argue that Pena might have to win another fight before she gets a title shot again.
