Francis Ngannou is at a crossroads with the UFC when it comes to his contract. The issues with his current contract have been out in the public for some time now.

The current UFC heavyweight champion only has two fights left on his contract, but the negotiations for the contract renewal don’t seem to be going anywhere. Ngannou has come out and talked about it in public as well. Recently, Ngannou’s manager, Marquel Martin, talked about what the issue has been, and according to him, he hasn’t heard back from the UFC in 6 months.

The UFC President Dana White, in an interview, was asked about the situation. He said, “Francis and I bumped into each other the other night at dinner and we had a good talk. He’s not out of contract if he wins that fight. I think he’s got one more fight with us after that.”

“Listen, I say it all the time, man. This sport is fun for me. I love doing this. Contrary to the narrative out there, we’ve made a lot of people very wealthy. If you don’t want to be here, if this is not where you want to be. Well, that’s not fun for you and it’s definitely not fun for me either. These are all grown men and women, and everybody has to make their own decisions in life. And go down their own paths. But I think that Francis and I had a good conversation.”

“I think Francis has been misguided too by some people that aren’t very bright. That doesn’t help either when you got some people behind you that have no f**king clue what they’re talking about.”

Dana White blames Francis Ngannou’s representation

This is not the first time Dana White has openly criticized Ngannou‘s agency. According to White, things like this happen sometimes, but you don’t always come to terms when it comes to a contract.

However, he believes that it’s important who represents a fighter. And the UFC President believes that the UFC heavyweight champion hasn’t had the best representation.

He even said that if someone wants to be with them, they’ll love to have them. But if not, it’s not a problem at all.
