Francis Ngannou, the heavyweight champion of the UFC, just came out victorious in arguably the most important match of his career. The Cameroonian defeated his former sparring partner Ciryl Gane in a must-win match to make a statement to his employer.
However, the UFC might have more things in store for him as the light heavyweight legend, Jon Jones keeps lurking in the shadow before making a leap into the heavyweight division. Even though it is a burning question in the promotion, the match is something that ‘The Predator’ has desired for quite some time.

Speaking to UFC announcer Bruce Buffer on his podcast IT’S TIME, the heavyweight champ made it clear that he wants to deal with ‘Bones’ as soon as possible. However, the only thing that remains in the dark is Jones’ willingness to come out of the virtual world and take some real shots at him.
“I think the first thing we have to know whether Jon Jones is going to fight or not. Because actually, he finds himself a better battle on Twitter than in octagon,” Ngannou answered while answering Buffer’s question on a potential super fight between both the UFC stars.
Although there is no doubt that ‘Bones’ is a ferocious warrior, the former champ has remained rather inactive for the past couple of years. And prefers to take shots on potential opponents via his social media channels.
What Did Jon Jones say about Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane at UFC 270?
The light heavyweight kingpin Jon ‘Bones’ Jones already clarified that he would be coming for the title of the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ after his decade-long run in the 205-pounds division of the UFC.
So, it was obvious on his part to keep an eye on a match that would decide the fate of the precious heavyweight strap. Hence, throughout the match, Jones kept dishing out his observation of the match and even downplayed his future opponents.
