Francis Ngannou has come under fire from fans for his comments regarding the disappointing outcome of the UFC Fight Night main event in London.

The highly anticipated heavyweight match between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes, which served as the main event of UFC Fight Night in London, was over after only fifteen seconds when the British fighter hurt his knee.

Following that, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou expressed his opinions about UFC Fight Night 208’s abrupt conclusion on his official Twitter account.

‘The Predator’ asked fans to respect ‘Razor’ and wished Aspinall a swift recovery. Unfortunate ending to #UFCLondon, hope Aspinal recovers well. Put some DAMN respect on CURTIS name,” Ngannou wrote.

However, Ngannou’s comments didn’t settle well with some fans. It was mainly him demanding respect for Blaydes. Therefore, many fans expressed their disagreement in the comments section. One fan even asked if he was drunk to make such a claim.

In the fifteen seconds slugfest, both Aspinall and Blaydes opened the round quickly. Later, the Brit landed a huge kick that hurt his knee and he collapsed on the mat in agony. However, there is no official news about the severity of his injury.

At the conclusion of the bout, Aspinall’s opponent Blaydes was awarded a win via knockout.

Has Curtis Blaydes ever fought Francis Ngannou?

Yes, ‘Razor’ has previously competed against the Cameroonian fighter. In fact, they have crossed paths twice in their UFC career.

Their first slugfest came in the year 2016. It was Blaydes’ UFC debut. This bout went to the second round. However, the doctor stopped the contest because of Blaydes’s eye injury, handing The Predator a knockout victory.

As their first collision ended in a doctor stoppage, the UFC set them up for a rematch in 2018. This time, Ngannou and Blaydes headlined the card at the UFC Fight Night event in 2018.

‘Razor’ was on an amazing four-fight win streak coming into the fight. Meanwhile, the Cameronian was on a two-fight skid. However, Ngannou just took 45 seconds of the first round to end the contest. He landed a huge overhead right hand that sent the American fighter to the mat.

Following that, The Predator continued his vicious strikes until the referee jumped in and stopped the fight, ending Blaydes’s win streak. Ngannou also won a Performance of the Night bonus for his victory.
