UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is all set to defend his title against Ciryl Gane. The two will clash on January 22, 2022, at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Ngannou is preparing for the title unification matchup amidst his contract dispute.

UFC 270 is the last fight in his contract. If he defends the belt, the contract will extend with the addition of more fights. If not, they will brand him as a ‘restricted free agent’. The drama between the MMA promotion and the French fighter began earlier this year.

The Predator declined to fight Derrick Lewis for a rematch, which consequently made his relationship with UFC Dana White plummet. Prior to his upcoming Ciryl Gane fight, Ngannou released a video of himself talking about the biggest names of the fight game from MMA to Boxing. He praised him and shared, “Ciryl Gane, really good as a fighter and as a man as well. Very nice guy. His movement and his speed, those two things stands out basically for heavyweight. I mean lightweight all those guys, they fight like that. If he fights as those lighter division you know not like a heavyweight. Heavyweight, usually they stand and bank.”
