2Francis Ngannou has been extremely entertaining in all his fights at the UFC. His devastating knockout punches have made the fighter an absolute fan favorite. ‘The Predator’ is the hardest recorded puncher in the world.

As of January 2021, Francis Ngannou stands fourth in the UFC men’s pound for pound rankings. He is also the current UFC heavyweight champion.

Ever since he made his UFC debut in December 2015, Ngannou has managed to destroy almost every opponent he’s faced in the octagon. Ngannou is currently on the last few fights of his UFC contract.

The heavyweight champion recently appeared in an interview with DAZN Boxing and broke his silence on his thoughts of renewing his UFC contract.

Ngannou wants to take on the boxing legend Tyson Fury in a boxing match, which will get him a huge payout. However, this boxing match may cause Ngannou to not re-sign with the UFC if the contract restricts him from fighting outside of the promotion.

Ngannou said,” I would like something. Let’s say something like Conor and Mayweather did. You know, I think it will be more viral with the UFC supporting that.”

The interviewer questioned Ngannou if it is safe to say he will resign with the UFC. To that, the fighter replied,” from where we are, nothing is safe to say.”

He added,” I’m 35 years old, bro, and it’s not like I have a lifetime ahead of me, you know. I’m very aware of my age and the stage of my career. And if I really want to do this, I think it’s the time to do it. But I don’t see why that shouldn’t be possible for them (UFC) as well.”

What’s next for Francis Ngannou?

The last time we saw Francis Ngannou was when he snatched the title away from Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 last year. The fighter will be returning to action on the 22nd of January to take on Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.
