UFC legend Nate Diaz has found himself in legal trouble. He was recently involved in a physical altercation with a social media star in the streets of New Orleans. The local police department has now issued a warrant in Diaz’s for the said incident. UFC fans have reacted to this news on social media.

Nate Diaz’s last weekend was very eventful. First, he was seen throwing a bottle of water at Netflix star Chase DeMoor at Misfits X DAZN: X Series 006 after the latter spilled some incendiary words toward the MMA veteran. Moreover, he was in the news again. Diaz was later involved in a physical altercation in the streets of New Orleans. He choked out Logan Paul’s lookalike, Rodney Peterson, which resulted in suffering a nasty head injury.

New Orleans PD issues arrest warrant for Nate Diaz

The spokesperson of the New Orleans Police Department, Karen A. Boudrie, confirmed that Nate Diaz is subject to arrest for second-degree battery. But he is not in custody at the moment. Boudrie said that the charges were issued after certain video footage was collected as evidence.

The video shows that Nate Diaz allegedly choked Rodney Peterson unconscious after a brawl that started in a bar. A second-degree battery is punishable by up to eight years in prison time, with or without labor, in the state of Louisiana. However, the fans do seem to agree with the charge.

The fans have showered their support for Nate Diaz and believe that he was acting in self-defense. They claim that a good lawyer will always be able to get those charges dismissed. The fans also believe that it was Rodney Peterson who came up to Nate Diaz and called the first shot.

The UFC fans clearly have Nate Diaz’s back. The Stockton native has also issued a warning to Jake Paul that he may opt out of the fight in August if the second-degree charges aren’t dropped. We will have to see what follows in the days to come.
