The UFC 299 fight card is building up quite the hype around it as it features some of the most popular fighters in the UFC. The card also features the debut of one of the most exciting MMA fighters in the world, Michael Page. But fans are especially excited for the co-main event of UFC 299. The co-main event features UFC lightweight prospect, Benoit Saint Dennis taking on UFC veteran, Dustin Poirier.
The Frenchman is coming in hot on a 5-fight-win streak, with all wins not going the distance. The hype behind Dennis is undeniable as the fighter even gained recognition from the president of France recently.

The 28-year-old is taking a a big step up in the competition from the other fights he had in the past. However, the Frenchman has an entire country, along with their President, backing him up to win his bout against Dustin Poirier.
Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, recently had a picture of him holding a shirt of Benoit Saint Dennis make its rounds around social media. This caught the attention of the no.11 ranked UFC lightweight. Saint Dennis led to him posting the picture on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), inviting the president of France to attend the event and watch him fight live.

The former UFC interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, is one of the biggest names in the sport. If Saint Dennis manages to beat Poirier in their fight, the Frenchman will get closer to the UFC gold than ever before.

Joe Rogan has high praise for ‘God of War’
Joe Rogan, in a podcast episode watching UFC 297, had a conversation about the matchup between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Dennis. The color commentator was surprisingly worried about how Poirier would fare against the French finisher. The podcast host had really high praise coming the way of Saint-Dennis even claiming that he was “next level”.

The 56-year-old then went on to warn Poirier ahead of his fight, as Rogan said, “He’s got furnaces going in his eyes. You look into that guy’s eyes, there’s hell going on behind those eyes. He’s built for it. So, him vs. Dustin is very exciting, and Dustin better be ready to go. You better be ready to go with that guy, because he’s going to try and make a name off of him.”
